Before making an important management decision, get as much as you can of the best information available— even if you have to beat it out of someone– and review it carefully. Discuss it with other wise guys, and analyze it, draw up worst–case scenarios;add up the plus and minus factors, discuss it with your Consigliere [Advisor, mentor or lawyer], then do what your gut tell you to do. The man with a great gut- an instinct for the right move at the right time will go to the top in any business.
With less important decisions, identify the problem, gather the facts, pose the solutions and try to forsee the circumstances, keeping in mind that every maybe has a maybe not. Consult with others. Then put the problem out of your mind for a time. Your subconscious will work on it, and often enough, the correct decision will come to you by itself, without your working at it consciously.
In Summary: To make decision, large or small, discover, examine and consider the following:
≈» The specific nature of the problem.
≈» The facts or what seem to be the facts.
≈» The alternatives and their possible consequences or rewards.
Then solicit the views of others, let the subconscious do its work and make your Decision........
